This past weekend, we packed our bagsand headed to Durban for this year’s Royalty Soapie Awards. I didn’t attend the awards last year so I was really looking forward to getting a taste of them this year. I chose to be in Durban from Friday so that I could at least have some time to enjoy my Saturday whilst waiting for our mummy Lelo and the likes of Picay to arrive that afternoon. Looking back, I made the right choice. I really enjoyed those couple of days. 
Anyway, on with the main reason why we were there. We’ve already updated you about the winners HERE , so now we share the pictures from the event.Goliath and Goliath were the hosts. I must say those guys work very well together. They are funny, crazy and they have no limits. I love the chemistry they have.
I like Donavan more. He is just adorable. I don’t know why Picay didn’t get a picture of the other Goliath. #Sabotage

Ncoooooooo, Khethi…Khethi. She really has come a long way and she is doing her thang. She gave a speech and sent a proper shout out, acknowledging Mfundi Vundla for being the Pioneer of the Industry. She spoke about how Generations broke boundaries and opened doors for a lot of talent as far as acting is concerned.

I was so happy to see my Vusi Kunene. I got a warm hug and a proper chat eye to eye. Lol! I am not a fan of Isibaya but I was crossing fingers for Vusi to get at least one Award. SMH at them for not giving him anything. Proper sabotage shem.

Holding her award here….just a couple of weeks ago she was holding a SAFTA. She is finally getting the recognition she deserves for her role as Thembeka on Scandal.

This lady is from Villa Rosa and there was a very awkward moment when she went to accept the Award. People were shocked and asking what Villa Rosa is and who watches it, on which channel?

Buci Nqwiliso and Mondli Ngcobo entertained us. Well, I’ve always admired Buci’s vocals but Mondli blew me away that night. That guy can sing!

The awards were ok but the winners became predictable and it kinda messed up the vibe. Hopefully next year there will be a lot of competition amongst the nominees to avoid the same shows/people winning over and over again.
