Award winning Author Cynthia Jele must be smiling. Her novel Happiness is a Four-Letter Word, has been turned into a screenplay. Sithe Sikhosana reviewed the winning book for us back in 2010. You can read the review HERE
The story is about 3 friends that are hunting for happiness. They just want to be happy regardless of what they have, what they do or what they have been through. The cast includes Khanyi Mbau as Zaza, Mmabatho Montsho as Nandi and Renate Stuurman as Princess. They have already started shooting the film around Mzansi.
Zaza (Khanyi) is glamorous housewife. Nandi (Mmabatho) is a lawyer. Princess (Renate) is an Art Gallery owner. As friends they go through all the challenges life throws at them from up to down as they push to find that happiness which by the way has no manual.
This film will be produced by Junaid Ahmed, Helena Spring, and Bongiwe Selane. The brains behind the novel, Cynthia Jele is busy working on her second novel, and hopefully it will be as powerful as her first one.
Did you read the book? If you haven’t then please get it before the movie comes out. I am crossing fingers that the film is as good at the novel or better. I love the cast. Khanyi, Mmabatho and Renate are brilliant story tellers on screen. They own every role they tackle. I am looking forward to watching the film already. If the movie doesn’t move too far from the novel in terms of the storyline then we have another award winning film coming up. They will scoop all those award. I can’t wait.
