Alcohol nhe, I am going to try to write about Craft Beer without sounding like someone who needs to be referred to the nearest AA gathering . If you are a beer lover and you have tasted Craft Beer, you will agree that it’s good, actually it’s AMAZING. If you don’t agree, it’s cool I think some alcoholic beverages are acquired taste either way but for me Craft Beer was love at first sip. I still remember the first time I tasted Steph Weiss and Deep of the Beast amongst others, I felt like I’ve found a new home inside a bottle, absolutely heavenly if I may say.
.
This past Saturday I went all the way to Silverstar Casino for the Craft Beer Festival, the festival is aimed at attracting beer as well as food lovers whilst enjoying some music by live bands. I think my eyes got filled with love the minute I walked into the dome and saw different stalls of Craft Beer; I knew I’d taste almost everything.
There were about 9 – Craft Beer stalls for us to taste, buy and drink from and hopefully find a favourite that you can enjoy having every once in a while at your own pleasure and at the comfort of your home. I never shy away from tasting anything, I am a try – everything type of a person and I did just that. I drank from almost all the stalls and also ate from all the 3 – gourmet street food stalls that were available and I enjoyed everything, all of it! I must admit though, after a 3rd beer you realise that they almost taste the same with a few that have different notes that excite the palate, nonetheless they all tasted good.
.
Here are some people we spotted…
We arrived to the sounds of Conrad Cronje and band, I only knew one song that they performed. If you listen to Highveld or 5FM you’d probably be familiar with them. I am not but they were good!
Smack Republic: Without wasting anytime, this is the first stall we had our first round from. We tasted the different craft beers they had and finally settled for a nice and fine brew on our hands. I bet I was nodding my head after every sip! *The band was so loud could barely hear anything, so please forgive me I didn’t take any people’s names*
Their list, we first tried Maboneng maverick. I enjoyed it, my friend didn’t and I had hers too.
SowetoGold: Their stall had very sweet and fruity – craft beers with cranberry and mixed fruit flavours, after a taste I decided I will pass but my friend bought one and she liked it.
I like the cute little flowery dress and those well-toned legs
It was just a relaxed day with family and friends enjoying some Craft Beer.
Grey is the new blonde, I totally love the hair colour of the lady in the middle and it suits her perfectly.
I liked the fact that there were enough chairs and tables for people to sit and enjoy their food and drinks.
There were only 3 – food stalls which meant that we had to stand for some time in queues to grab some grub in the hot sun.
The wait was so worth it though because this burger was super fresh and delicious, well done Woodview team you get 5 – stars for the delish burger!
Snorting Boar Smoker: They had boerewors rolls, a pork burger and spicy sticky wings. If you ever spot their stall at an outdoor event, do not hesitate to drop by and get their wings. Perfection I tell yah and super tasty.
Fellow bloggers making their way in and looking excited, I love their looks.
The atmosphere was super cool and the weather cleared out very well for us to enjoy the event and keep downing the craft beer.
Couples that drink together stay together longer, I know that’s not the saying but hey
More couples…
Cute nhe?!
When you are proud that you and bae are still together after many years of drinking together and loving it! Chesa griza.
This gentleman later on started dancing like uzolahla, tjoo!
I caught her while she was still enjoying her chicken wings but she was nice enough to flash a smile for us…
Ama-gents serving some legs, chesaaa! Do you like em shaved or hairy?
MainstreamBeer had a host of beers and catered for all craft beer lovers with light, strong and some ladies drinks. By the time I had their beer I couldn’t really tell the tastes apart.
Abo nice, how cool and cute do they look though?
I asked them to sing ‘yamnandi i-beer and they chuckled’ and admitted that it was indeed nice
Usisi omuhle no bhuti
They loved the craft beer from Sxollie
Brothers Brewery
There was a Mojito stall for the not – so – craft – beer crazy people
This violinist got excited during his performance and jumped off the stage into our table, look at the passion for the violin!
#LoveLivesHere they were watching the violin guy who was on top of the table
Look at him getting down like he was dancing to ‘Sister Bertina’
Another one…they were just having a good time.
Happy people
It was really good vibes all around
Sxollie: And I had my last one for the road and that was a wrap!!
What a super chilled festival, beautiful place to spend with family and friends eating, drinking and just relaxing. If you haven’t tried any sort of Craft Beer yet, do yourself a nice favour and try it because chances are you will probably love it, no lies! Craft beer tastes better, it is fully flavoured and every sip is enjoyable plus it has less calories and it goes down pretty well with food and every time I go out I see the revolution of Craft Beer, it is becoming a beer of choice while fine dining *someone make me an ambassador already* lol. Please have more food stalls next time, the long queues at the 3 – stalls were a problem.
Thank you for the invite and a great time Selloane Moleli from Eclipse PR and Annie Hodes from Angelfish PR and Events. A big shout out to Zakhe who made sure we had everything we needed.
