In case you missed it, SABC spokesperson Kaizer Kganyago revealed last week that Metro FM DJ, Paul Mtirara’s contract had been terminated after a serious contravention on his part. Paul was the host of The Chill Factor and he has been with the station for over 10years.
Things are getting heated because Paul is now suing the SABC for breach of contract. According to the Sowetan, his lawyer Graham Moshoana said “We are going to the high court. Our first prize would be reinstatement or alternatively they would have to pay damages. He did not get a verbal warning or a letter, he got nothing.”
On the other hand Kaizer told The Juice; “We cannot comment on the lawsuit because we have only read about it. Every person has the right to challenge such a decision, but Paul is fully aware of why we are at the stage we are at.”
TJO!! Such confusion bathong!
We wonder how this is gonna turn out. But most importantly Employers should know better, in this day and age you can’t juuuuust fire someone.
