Hi Bahlali Jan-worry made me stay indoors this past week-end so I caught on repeats and new episodes of shows which got me thinking, so I decided to share my thoughts with you, and you can share yours… I’m on compact so jah please understand neh
I gave myself a moment or two, to watch what used to be one of my favourite reality shows on SABC1; Friends Like These with their new host replacing Dj Sbu aka Sibusiso Sbu Leope. I love Trevor Gumbi I think he is an amazing person and I enjoyed him on “Head-Line” but not that reality show he did with abo Maps and Tall Ass, that was atrocious (learned the word on JC streets… i-vocab yam iyakhula Lol). On Friends Like These he wasn’t bad but not good either he failed to capture me nonetheless, mind-you I watched the whole episode… I was waiting for him to WOW me but nah he didn’t, I doubt I will watch again.
I remember in Cape Town wanting to be on FLT with my friends maar watching Trevor murdering the show (not in a good way) with his rather dry wit I did not envision myself being a contestant there anymore. Maybe he needs to grow on me…The new look Trevor is steaming hot though!
oh Bawo! I got to watch Pearl Modiadie on Zaziwa Interviewing the “Nomvula” hit maker Nathi Mankayi. What a bad interview it was, Nathi to me is like Siphokazi Maraqana… he just wants to sing. He is not about that fame and interviews he wants to sing qha qwaba. On the flip side though, I feel he could be groomed, Lance or whomever manages him must have been in a hurry to put him on Zaziwa whilst he is still hot.
Nathi is a typical township Xhosa boy, as he learned how to turn his life around from being utsotsi to being a good guy, I believe he could learn to handle interviews better.
I’m still enjoying watching Tembisa Mdoda on OPW.
I’m watching “It’s Complicated” again only because I missed some episodes and that it’s GREAT TV. Can they please bring us the second season, pretty please. I love all the characters on It’s Complicated, they make sense to me somehow maybe it’s because they’re real. They are what we are and see day-in day-out. Beautiful acting, actors, production… ndibala ntoni nah.
Then I caught Ezase Afro… what a bad show! like what a horrible show! or maybe I’m not their target market. Hayi sana all I can say is Dj Tira wants this fame thing, he is hungry for it… not like a typical producer who enjoys crafting and bringing talent to the fore, he wants to be talent… I feel sorry for his artists shem, imagine competing with your boss at work *sigh*
Congrats to The Wendy Williams Team (and Show) for being commissioned for the next 5 years! You see I love me some Wendy and I always think she got it together but last week (SA times) she had Martha freaken Stewart as her guest to talk about her new book. Tjoe! I was never ready for Martha to charge of the interview, it felt as though Wendy was the guest instead.
I laughed so hard shem. #PoorWendy
