Where there is a White Star gig, you know I am there. They must just make me their brand nton nton and supply me with free maize meal. Hehehehehe
Anyway, this year they took us to Witbank – Emalahleni for the 5th annual White Star Celebrity Cook-off. When I got the invite and saw this year’s venue I was so excited because at least I could drive myself there instead of the group travelling. I am not a fan of those. Tltltltltl
Friday we were just chilling,all the action began the next day where 5 Celebrity Teams went head to head to show who reigns in the kitchen. Here is what went down……My camera crashed and I had to work with what I had so askies for the unclear pics.
Team Zwangi kicked off with 3members Zweli Dube, Gift Mokhampanyane and Anathi Seyisi. Their 4th member Tom London arrived late.
Team Blacka-Nese Wodumo (Wololo) members – Lesley Musina, Iko Mash, Chanley Wong and Miss Soweto, Buhle Xulu.

They were all smiles.
Team Manyora Pitsa members – Chris Mapane, Dudu Ndlovu, Phila Madlingozi and Manaka Ranaka.
Team Iliqhwa members – Akhumzi Jezile, Andile Gaelesiwe, Linda Sebeso and Zola Hashatsi.
The Michelin Stars won last year and they came through to defend their title. Nolly Meje, Vusi Kunene and Mablerh. Their 4th member Thato Molamu arrived late.
The cooking began. Manaka in action.
Iko was complaining 99% of the time. Lol

Chris was all over the place. He cooked, entertained and ate his food shem.
My TJO moment was when Iko Mash told the judges during their meal presentation that ‘Pap is associated with poverty’. My jaw dropped because at that particular moment it was like dissing the product you represent. I mean, they were all there for White Star. Lol
After all teams presented their White Star meals it was time to relax and wait for the evening where the winners were announced.

Team Manyora Pitsa came 4th. Iko Mash’s team came 5th, #3 was Andile’s team, #2 went to Team Zwangi.
And for the first time EVER in the history of this White Star celebrity cook-off – the defending champions defended their crown and WON!! Vusi Kunene, Nolly Meje, Thato Molamu and Mablerh won the 1st price of R10K each. Last year they went on a MSC Cruise and this year they get R10K….CONGRATS!! Iko complained again after the winners were announced screaming ‘nilala namajudge‘ Kwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.
It was time to get down and have fun. Bob Mabena kept us on the dance floor the whole night.
Even Vusi Kunene came out of his comfort zone and let it all out. Bekummandi.
