I hope y’all had a great weekend, I had a relaxed one and I cannot wait for this coming week to end and then bam I am on leave and on my #KeDezembaBoss.
I know we haven’t caught up with international news but here we go.
By now we all know what happened after Kanye West’s rant about Beyonce and Jay – Z during his Sacramento Saint Pablo Tour. Well, it is being reported that Kanye spent Thanksgiving at the hospital resting after been forcefully admitted as he was pausing to be a threat on himself aka nervous breakdown. Other publications are reporting that he has had a psychosis diagnosis therefore hi insurance will cover the 30 million dollars that has been a loss due to his cancelled tour dates. This is the insurance that Toni Braxton should have taken and she would have not been bankrupt twice.
There also reports that are floating around about his marriage- apparently between his outbursts and his indecisiveness in house finishes which is costing his wife upwards of 10 million dollars, their marriage is skating on thin ice. I personally think that there’s a lot of insights people seem to have and also “sources”come out of the wood works whenever somethings are going down. KIMYE have not had a good 2016 let’s hope 2017 is a better year for them.
While we are on KIMYE have you heard the new track from Ray J called Famous where he goes in on Kim Kardashian and Ye? In the track he sings, ‘She f*cked me for fame, look in her eyes / She was the first one to sign on the line / She was the real one to plan it all out / Look at the family, they walk around proud / All because she had my d*** in her mouth…’Ray J needs to stop trying to revive his corpse of a music career through trashing Kim, they were in love once and had a relationship for more than 5 years clearly there’s some sort of respect that goes with that. This is the very reason why he will forever be known as Brandy’s little sister. He should stick to foolery on reality television and those stupid bikes.
Also close to the Ye subject, his GOOD music artist, Kid Cudi took to his social media from rehab to thank everyone for supporting him through his tough time battling being suicidal. I am very happy to see that we, black people are coming out more to share our personal stories on depression and mental health. We need to start having open conversations about that and let’s hope he will be there to support Kanye and make sure that he is getting the help he needs.
Dave Chapelle is back with a brand new bang. After his rate record breaking SNL appearance pre-Trump, Dave has inked a multi-million comedy special deal with Netflix that will have us laughing our lungs out and he, laughing all the way to the bank. Good for him.
While we celebrate black excellence we have to celebrate the Medals of Freedom that were received by Michael Jordan, Cecily Tyson and Diana Ross from President Obama. I will sure miss how the Obama’s shone a light on black excellence in the White House and other places.
Naya Rivera has filed for divorce from her husband of two years Ryan Dorsey. The two first dated in high school and then rekindled their romance shortly after Naya’s highly publicised break up with rapper Big Sean. Naya is seeking permanent physical custody of their son, Josey. I have always thought that there was something off-ish about that marriage but then again she was married longer than Kim Kardashian so… Has anyone read her new book, I know she spills some tea in it but I am quite sceptical of these celeb books.
By now you have heard of the passing of Fidel Castro. The Cuban leader’s death came with a lot of mixed emotions from people, while we hold him up and high for his efforts in the South African independence westerner’s celebrate the death of a tyrant. In as much as Fidel Castro has left behind a legacy of mixed proportions, we have to acknowledge the good work he did and that does not mean we are oblivious to his other infamous political ways. Farewell hero Castro, Viva Cuba Libre.
