Earlier I was in town, at the Small claims court to be exact minding my own business waiting to be attended an elderly black couple walked in to enquire what recourse do they have for their case. As a norm you state your case in order to be redirected to the appropriate court room. I also came for enquiries because someone I know is refusing to pay me back some cash I lent them a while ago.
The couple was at the court to report one of our esteemed designers something Tlale. According to the couple (this is eavesdropping at it’s best)… They went to Tlale Designs for a dress the lady wanted to wear on a wedding and she was charged R15 000.00
The lady paid the R15 000.00 in four instalments of R6 000.00 , a R2 000.00 another R6 000.00 and a R1 000.00. Came time for collection there was not dress ready for her at Tlale Designs infact according to the couple this Tlale person did not even recognise them. They went to court but failed to prove which dress they were buying.
What was frustrating to the couple is how the whole matter was handled. They were claiming this Tlale person got VIP treatment and the commissioner handling the case was more star-struck than working eventually the case was thrown out due to “insufficient evidence” provided.
The couple was advised to go to Speak Out as celebrities enjoy taking advantage of normal folk, in that way they will definitely get their money back.
If this is true, this Tlale designer must just pay back the money iphume ezintweni.
