Starbucks Chairman, President & CEO, to headline the Discovery Leadership Summit 2014
Discovery announced the line-up of global thought leaders who will be speaking at this year’s Leadership Summit, happening on 5 March in Johannesburg. Now if you’re not sure what all the excitement is about, previous Leadership Summits have attracted the likes of Al Gore, Richard Branson and Malcolm Gladwell.
Here are the headline names for 2014:
- Howard Schultz (Starbucks Chairman, President & CEO)
- Joseph Stiglitz (Former Senior Vice President & Chief Economist of the World Bank)
- Lord Sebastian Coe (Olympic Medalist, 2012 Olympic Games Organiser)
- Adam Morgan (Author, International Brand Consultant)
An announcement on additional speakers will be made in the next few weeks.
The theme of this year’s Summit is Intellectual Capital. Shared – something that aims to reflect the purpose of the Summit as global leaders share their success stories with aspiring entrepreneurs and businessmen.
This year the Summit will again support leadership development at grassroots level by investing a percentage of this year’s ticket prices to the Umthombo Youth Development Foundation. This South African NGO supports the training of medical professionals in rural KwaZulu Natal.
