African Star invited us to the Roses Product Launch which took place at the VIP Room in Sandton. My son Hastings was my date and we had a crazy eventful evening just catching up on what has been happening around us including JC.
We all know Roses are very famous for their Cordials right? The Passion Fruits, Kola Tonics, Limes. Well the good news is that these cordials are now available pre mixed. No need to have be at a restaurant,bar or your home to enjoy them. You can just walk into a grocery store and grab your Passion Fruit and Lemonade while you on the go. These pre mixed refreshments are available in those cute 250ml cans.
I honestly think this is a brilliant idea. When I mentioned to a friend of mine that I had attended this launch she said ‘What took them so long?’, which to me means you guys made a perfect decision. Big up to whoever came up with that idea.
SK Khoza was the MC. I have so much respect for SK shem. 99% of the times I see him with his woman at these events. He doesn’t hide her like some entertainers who go to gigs leaving their women at home whilst bona they are out there and acting like they are single.
The fun part was when guests were randomly selected to go and compete to see who makes the best cocktails using the pre mixed cordials.
Team 1 was Sashi Naidoo, Roxy Burger, Mika Stefano, Mogkadi Seabi and Trevor Gumbi. Sashi’s cocktail came 1st.
Team 2 there was Maps Maponyane, Amanda DuPont, Vimbai Mutinhiri and the other 2 guys whose names I didn’t get. Maps’ cocktail won in this group. Both Sashi and Maps were given Roses Hampers.

Shugasmakx and Tumi. I’ve known Smakx for donkeys years and this was my first time seeing him without his glasses. He actually had to pull me thinking I was ignoring him, kante I couldn’t even recognize him.
Another one that I couldn’t recognize was Mika Stefano. WOW!!! Mika has been taking care of himself. No junk food under that skin.
