There is a song called Complete by Lashun Pace which starts off with these lyrics: “I am complete in Jesus”. She goes on to sing about how everything you are longing for can be found in Jesus and that he can make your life complete in every way.
It got me thinking about how we always run to the wrong solutions when we encounter problems and do not view God as the ultimate problem solver.
I have a friend who can’t leave her abusive boyfriend because she is afraid that she won’t be able to get anyone better than this guy. She thinks that the guy who abuses her is as good as it’s ever going to get .Mind boggling I know, but we have all been there before. When the fear of the unknown has crippled us and made us fools. We have all underestimated God. .We forget that God is a God of 10 out of 10; he wants to meet all of our needs in all areas of our lives. He wants to be our everything and wants us to worship and trust him at all times.

It is written in Isaiah 61 :3 that God will give us beauty for our ashes .We should let go of our ashes and expect beauty because God has promised us in Psalm 23:6 that goodness and mercy shall follow us all the days of our lives. Why then do we not make God our everything, why do we doubt him, is he a man that he should lie?
- If your significant other does not want you to be a part of their life anymore and has left you, move on and expect beauty for those ashes .That man/ woman is not your everything, God is your everything. If you have been let go at work despite giving your best, move on and expect beauty. Psalm 23 says “The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want…”What that means is that the Lord is always looking out for us and leads our way .We need to let go of things that are not serving us anymore and rely on God to give us more than we’ve ever asked for .God wants us to be happy.
- Often times we hold on to things that should have left our lives already, we are human after all. We are afraid of what the future holds and we want to hold on to what we know .2 Corinthians 5:7 says that we live by faith and not by sight. We need to let go of what we can see in the natural and be led by faith .Sometimes that’s all we need, a bit of faith to open that door, to move that mountain or to turn that situation around .Faith is a difficult thing I know but without faith there is little we can do. As a side note, to build your faith, cultivate an expectant, thankful spirit and remember to praise God in all situations.
God wants us to always trust him for everything. He wants to be the only God that we serve. He is a jealous God as he says in Exodus 34:14.
- Some people have a God of sex; they will give up everything for sex. They will watch every kind of porn, have every kind of sex to quench their desire and often, they lose their morals in this pursuit of sex. Sex becomes their God because it is their everything. Some have a God of money, we all know a person like that who will do anything for money. There is a reason why the bible says that the love of money is the root of all evil. An unrelenting pursuit of anything is dangerous and can result in a compromise of morals and without morals, anything goes. Our God is Jehovah and he is what we should pursue relentlessly. Bear in mind , I am not saying that we should not strive for our goals but what I am saying is that God is our everything and we should not pursue things that will drive us away from him.
We have a great friend in Jesus and we never have to face our troubles alone, he is a friend who will never leave us. We need to see him as our everything and rely on him at all times. We should rely on the promises of the bible and we will see that our lives will work out in a better way than we could have ever imagined.
