Around Africa….

We are worried about Ebola  right now. All Africans are worried. Other continents are already treating us like trash. A man had to be escorted out of a Plane in the USA for jokingly saying he is from Africa and he has Ebola. The joke backfired on him and he was forced off the plane. This virus has killed more than 4000 people and if a miracle doesn’t happen soon, more people are gonna die. Kubi!!

Jamaican artist Eddie McGregor has a concert in Kenya next month and shots are being fired at him for refusing to cancel the show. He says it will be unprofessional of him to do that, also considering that Kenya is not mentioned as one of the countries that has Ebola cases. But Jamaicans are having none of that, they are forcing him to not take the risk. Sivelelwe shem, nobody wants to sit with Africa right now.

Still on this scary virus, well known Ghanaian Actor Van Vicker is apparently suing a website for publishing false news about him. It is said that the website broke a story saying Van had contracted Ebola in Monrovia (Liberia) while shooting a movie. Yazi this is poor journalism shem, why would you publish something like that without proper research? Lol, uVan says he is gatvol of these publications that’s why he is suing. Just last year there was a false report that he had died in a car accident. Sigh!!

As we move to good news – we say Ayeye Bafana Bafana Ayeye….Well-done to the guys for thrashing the Congolese by 2 goals to nil in a CAF Orange Africa Cup of Nations Qualifier played on Saturday in the DRC. So this puts them at the top of Group A. Bunch of Winners!!!

Nigeria seems to be losing it as far as soccer is concerned. They lost 1-0 to Sudan. Stephen Keshi is not having it easy from the critics. Guns are blazing. Stephen says he knows that certain people are sabotaging him and the team. I miss the days when the Super Eagles were nothing but SUPER, not what we are seeing now. :-(

The Kenyans shined in the USA at the Chicago Marathon. We all know that when it comes to long distances you can’t touch Kenya. Eliud Kipchoge led the men, 2nd and 3rd places were Sammy Kitwara and Dickson Chumba respectively, both from Kenya. The ladies slayed too with Kenya’s Rita Jeptoo taking the number spot, followed by Ethiopia’s Mare Dibaba and then Florence Kiplagat from Kenya in 3rd place. Shine Africa SHINE!!

I was so shocked when I came across a 2year old story about the death of Tanzanian Actor Steven Kanumba. To be honest I had no idea this guy passed away, worse under such sad circumstances. If you are a Big Brother Africa fan you will definitely remember him as one of the celebrities on BBA 4. I didn’t like him in the house, he was so annoying but his passing shocked me.

It’s reported that he had an argument with his woman, a Tanzanian Actress Elizabeth Michael aka Lulu. Bathi during the argument she pushed him while trying to defend herself, Kevin then fell and knocked his head and died from head injuries. Imagine if something like that had to happen. You push someone and they fall and die. Yhuuuuuuu, how do you carry on? Lulu confirmed the argument but she denied causing his death.

In Zimbabwe a man beheaded his lover and left the head on a cardboard box in the bedroom next to the bed. Yazi, I don’t understand what is happening to us human beings. All these brutal killings bandla. And there is another woman that also got killed by her husband and they had 2 post-mortems done and both showed different results. TJO!

That is what has been happening in our continent lately.  We continue crossing fingers for our neighbours Lesotho and Mozambique as they go to the polls. Free and fair elections please!! No more fighting, it’s enough.
