Finally the Channel O Music Video Awards have come and gone. Saturday evening all roads led to Nesrec Expo Centre to experience the original African musicians being honoured for their hard work. Guys, my Saturday was terrible hey. I was having one of those days nje when things are going right and I was going left. Total mess I tell you. I need to write an article about trust amongst friends. I can’t deal…Lol
Back to CHOAMVA….amazing night it was. All personal drama aside, I had a good time. You watched the awards on TV so I am not going to go down that route of explaining what really transpired. Besides comedian David Kau dancing to Cassper and Tiwa’s songs during ad breaks, and Minister Mbalula’s bodyguards being very serious while escorting Mbaks in and out of the building, no other action happened. Hehehehe
My highlight of the evening was BOOM SHAKA of course. I like how they had 4 microphones there in front like there was going to be a 4th person joining them. They kept Lebo’s space just for her. Thembie shut the house down with her speech. We all stood up during their performance to sing and dance along and then it took a 360 turn and we all got teary when they accepted their award. It’s shocking that they had never won an award ever since.

My TJO moment was the internationally connected Tbo Touch. That guy is special. My saddest was leaving that place without meeting Diamond and Tiwa Savage. It was a very emotional and painful moment for me.
