In the spirit of celebrating local musical talent, Metro FM gathered musos, industry people, fashionistas and all those who love things, to announce artists nominated for a chance to win awards at their 14th Annual Metro FM Awards in Durban ICC, on the 28th of February 2015. The nominations party was held at same venue we used for The JC Love Conference in 2014, The Campus in Bryaston.
Breakfast show host Unathi and her colleague Amon were MCs. They effortlessly took us through the 17 categories, which includes a new category: Listeners’ Choice Award. After all formalities were wrapped up, we made our way to the foyer, where a small stage was set up for us to enjoy performances by AKA and his BFF Da Les, Casper Nyovest, and the Kuze Kuse hit maker DJ Merlon.
Here’s some of those spotted at the event:
Queen of Drama Kelly Khumalo performed her hit song Asine, wearing a shimmery gold cape and a leopard swimsuit underneath. That Asine song sounds so sad and emotional, I wish I knew what she is saying.

All nominees will automatically be entered into this category and listeners can vote for any of them on the Metro FM website. Voting for other categories will be done using a USSD system, by dialing *120*588# and following further instructions as prompted. Voting closes on the 22 February at midnight. The list of nominees is quite lengthy, with AKA and Caster Nyovest leading with 7 nominations each, followed by Beatenburg with 6. Check our post for nominees list.
