2 weeks ago I was meant to be shooting a pilot for La Good Life at the Gauteng Sports Awards at Emperors Palace but batho ba La Good Life chose not to pitch, darkiez neh. So I found myself in the company of Bujy and Katlego… Such great spots I had a super time with those two.
We skipped the red carpet because it was non existent… I mean it was filled by Politician Dignitaries endingazaziyo wethu and a lot of ama-Randoms.
Drama, no scratch that, Masepa happened when we had to enter the Convention hall. I was utterly disappointed at how entering the hall was handled. How can people be so disorganised mara? The Convention Hall has 4 doors but they opted to use 1, we had to enter through that door in this order VVIP’s (people holding office) and VIP’s (related people… I think) Media (us) and others. What irked me the most about this sequence is that we got there early but we had to wait outside for all the other groups’ chairs to be filled 1st *claps* like seriously!
The Awards and the presenters were okay wethu I’m not going to dwell on them because I still need to watch the TV version so I’m not going to talk much about production, even though twirra was buzzing with bad production. Apart from some presenters fluffing their lines trying too hard to own them… and David being all bossy and ishton us, ordering us to clap (I think he thought we were his guests), I could not understand why they did not make provision for speeches… or maybe they were sparring us from amakretse we engrish ye sports stars. Phofu Sports stars are firm believers in action speaks louder than anything.
I think Minnie should just learn to chill on her “Thekwini lane” yazi she seems to take offense on errithing said about her, Remember Somizis song about her le Khune? She took offense. I guess queen scissor legs teachings did not quite rub off on her *awaits stones*
Mmmmhhhh what else happened there… I want i-voice ka Caster mna it sounds manly than this squeaky voice I am blessed with.
Ama performances were tops shem, Somizi my love your work… I think all you need now is your own show and I’ll be the producer. *proposal right there*
Yoh sis’ Judith killed that song! Her voice sounded so angelic.
One other thing, please prep your guest speakers thoroughly asifuni amashwam shwam thina that spot light iyashisa.
Here the Celebs I managed or convinced to snap *excuse the quality, if bad at all*
Khumbul’khaya’s Andile expressed how she felt about us by saying “nibhala umbhedo nina lapho” (andahleka maarn!) if it weren’t for Siphokazi January whom at 1st glance I thought were Hlubi Mboya and IkoMash I would not have taken the photo.
I like Iko’s veza ingalo angel-like dress yazi even though she looked like a devil somehow to me. Tltltltl
Iko’s dry perm
