Easter Monday I took my Kea and her friend Cindy to Gold Reef City Theme Park for a day of fun all thanks to Eclipse PR and Gold Reef City.

At the entrance we were welcomed by the Eclipse PR team, and we were given a map that the kids had to follow to complete various tasks in the Theme Park.

Before the task began, we made our way to Barneys Restaurant for some breakfast.

Then Black Jack the Magician came out to entertain the kids. I don’t trust magicians mna yaz? I feel like they hypnotise us somehow. Lol

The kids enjoyed Black Jack’s act. He is actually a cool guy ke yena. Very friendly, talented and loves kids. It takes a lot of patience to entertain children.

The Easter Bunny was there performing his duties like Santa does during Christmas.

It was time for the Easter Hunt. Kea checking out her map wondering where she is gonna start. They had to get a stamp for each task, and in total they needed 20 stamps. I think we were given 2hr 30mins for the tasks.

We ran around and completed the tasks within an hour so we could have enough time for fun. The girls played with the rabbits.

When it was time to go for the rides,first stop had to be the horses.

A lot of kids love the horse rides

I’ve always loved horses since I was a kid because I was exposed to them a lot by my Dad. Till today, I am a horse person. I don’t know why I didn’t become a jockey. Lol

Then we went to ride the train. The girls were not in the mood for those Anacodas and stuff. After the train ride we did the Mermaid. That’s where we were joined by Oupa and Masego. (pic credit Masego)

The biggest mistake I made that day was agreeing to go on this ride with the girls. I have never felt so sick in my life. Luckily I didn’t throw up during the ride. As soon as it stopped I fell sick. Kea and Cindy were making fun of me until I started throwing up. That’s when reality hit them that I was not joking. Thank you to Black Jack for taking me to the medical centre.

Feeling sick actually spoiled my mood and messed up my day. We had lunch at Barneys and I was still not myself but had to be strong for the girls because they wanted to have more fun.

After lunch we headed to The Golden Ampitheatre for The Easter Bunny Show titled Easter Bunny Who?

Easter Bunny Who?, is a musical that tells the story of the Easter Bunny who forgets who he is.

After the play, before the prize giveaways, Black Jack called the kids to the stage to dance. Yhuuuuuuu, children can move stru.

Cindy and Kea had a moment with award winning actress, Leandra Reddy. She said she reads JC. I was shocked. Lol

My babies!!

It was all over and it was time to go back home for me. I needed a warm bath, and my bed qha. Besides me falling sick, it was indeed a good day, especially for the kids. Thank you to Gold Reef City and Eclipse PR for making our Easter memorable. #LoveGRC

The topical issue at the moment is obviously what took place in Parliament yesterday. We know last week the #ConCourt found Jacob Zuma guilty of violating the constitution.

Since then, they have been calls for Zuma to step down. Yesterday the ANC voted not to impeach the president. The ruling party (ANC) says Zuma was not guilty of “serious misconduct”. The bid to remove Msholozi in Parliament was defeated by 233 votes to 143. We are not surprised shem. The ruling party controls almost two-thirds of parliament.

As expected, the fact that ANC is still 100% behind Zuma has driven opposition parties to the extreme. DA leader Mmusi Maimane said; ‘…… corruption had affected the entire party “like a cancer”. The ANC has lost its way and there’s no way back.”

Baleka Mbete was also told to step down by the opposition. They accused her of taking sides. She refused to give up her ‘throne’, but her deputy chaired most of the debate yesterday. EFF leader, Julius Malema is on a mission to take Baleka to court.
Former Finance Minister, Trevor Manuel’s take on Zuma issues is deep. He said; “Does the Executive actually live out its responsibility to serve the people every single day and does the parliamentary system oversee that the Executive does? If that is working… you shouldn’t have the court in your face every single day. This is a deep crisis. I think it is in all of our interests that the president actually steps aside.” TJO!

In another corner, the #PanamaPapers gate has opened wider and Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan, issued a warning for South Africans that are linked to Panama papers.
According to reports, President Jacob Zuma’s nephew, Khulubuse Zuma is said to be involved. It’s reported that he allegedly has an association with a company called Caprikat, established in the British Virgin Islands, scored a R100bn oil deal in the DRC. Khulubuse Zuma’s spokesperson, Vuyo Mkhize, responded that Khulubuse does not, and has never held any offshore bank account. – (Fin 24)

This Monday we attended the Official opening party aka Pre-party of SA Fashion Week presented to us by Cruz Vodka held at Michelangelo Towers, Sandton. I must say our girls and sometimes boys are really getting this dressing up to the nines thing right, Keep It Up! You know with Cruz Vodka as sponsor only good times are guaranteed through-out the night.

They had Deejay Shimza, the beautiful and talented Bucie, My faves KOTWE Deejay Sphectacular le Naves and a Live act by Tabia and the Afro Breeze for entertainment…My only gripe was with Cruz Vodka TV people hogging the red carpet…well, they were conducting interviews and we had little to no space to get proper images as the lightning was on our favour other than that all was GOODO!

Momma bae or should I say King THA, celebrated her 40th birthday at Bassline on the 30^th of March to a venue full of loving fans at The Bassline, in Newtown. This year also marks her 21 – years in the music industry, she was initially introduced to South African’s as a member of the biggest music groups in the country Bongo Muffin. She later on released her solo project ‘Zabalaza’ which beautifully infused various musical genres and illustrated her amazing vocals, she featured Tshepo Tshola on the soothing ‘Ndilinde’ *If I ever get married, this is the song I’ll walk down the aisle to* Thandiswa is an undeniable musical powerhouse.

This giant musician of our lifetime needs no introduction though, as her music transcends across the borders of Africa.  She is irrefutably one of the few artists that are not afraid to tap into something deeper than entertainment and sing about our political landscape and socio – economic issues, her 2^nd album ‘Ibokwe’ features ‘Ngimkhonzile’ and I do not need to explain the song any further!

Thandiswa’s younger sister Nomisupasta aka Nomsa with Samu who was the MC. Nomisupasta performed some of her popular songs ‘Maybe I and Summer Butterflies’

Samu shared with us that Thandiswa’s journery wasn’t all good as we might think, her first attempt to get noticed was on Shell Roat to Fame talent show – where she didn’t even make it to the semi – finals. However – she did catch the eye of Don Laka, musician and producer who then arranged to put her on a project he was working on – iBongo Maffins album.

Guitarist – Sonny Boy played like a superstar. Thandiswa’s special guest performances included him, Ringo Madlingozi, Moonchild and her all female band.

It was love and gratitude all over as we sang along to some of her best hits including ‘Lahlumlenze, Ndilinde, Nizalwa Ngobani and Ingoma’ to name a few.

She walked on the stage like the superstar that she is to screaming and whistling fans – it was super beautiful.

This is what joy looks like when your favourite musician takes to the stage and steals your soul as she performs.

She asked Samu to join her on stage and shared how much she values her as a friend – and they both blushed…

Last week our friends at Capacity Relations invited us to The Grand White Dinner held at a secret location *read Turffontein Racecourse down town Jozi*

What is The Grand White Dinner for? The Grand White Dinner’s objective is to break in the Guinness World Record for the most amount of champagne corks popped simultaneously.

Attendees were asked to dress in white with a touch of green, eish I didn’t adhere to this L it was a beautiful Saturday afternoon, Live music , the grass was green and Joburg weather was at it’s sunny peak and lastly (definitely not least) everyone was VIP.

I read the post below and had such a warm and fuzzy feeling! Despite how they hooked up, B seems to be bringing out the best in AKA.

Isn’t this what love is all about? Two people coming together, enjoying one another and bringing out the best in each other? I would definitely want my other half to have this positive effect on me. We live in a world of glorified TTT’s it has become rare to see such genuine acts of love, especially coming from a man. Also the Johannesburg dating scene has become like the Johannesburg Stock Exchange where ‘love’ is traded for some sort of gain, making you wonder if there’s still simple genuine love out there.

This reminded me of a conversation I had with my girlfriends recently. They asked me the million dollar question of ‘what do you want in a man‘, and my response of ‘above all else, he must love me‘ was met with a sarcastic ‘love…..in Johannesburg’? Lol, this is how bad things have become.

South African Fashion Week Spring/Summer 16 kicked off on the 7^th of April and ran through until the 9^th, hosted at the Hyde Park Corner. Fashion lovers and supporters pulled through to witness first-hand what designers have been working on and to also see which fashion trends will be gracing us for the next season.

Allister Coetzee has taken over the hottest seat in South African rugby after he was appointed as the new Springboks coach yesterday morning at the Supersport studios in Randburg.

The well travelled Coetzee fills the position that was vacated by Heyneke Meyer four months back. The 52 year old joins the Springboks on a four year contract and once assisted former head coach Jake White when the Springboks won the World Cup 9 years ago. His recent coaching stint was with Japanese club Kobelco Steelers after six years guiding the Stormers.

“I am very excited and grateful this opportunity. I know that coaching the Springboks requires dedication, hard work and patience. I hope that rugby loving South Africans will drive me to greater heights. We have to evolve in a certain way and be smarter but we will also keep what we are good at.” he said in his acceptance speech.

Coetzee became the first black Provincial coach when he took charge of the Eastern Province in 2001. His first real assignment will come on 11 June when the Boks engage Ireland in the Castle Lager incoming tour and his already talking tough.

Coetzee will then embark on a roller coaster ride in the bruising Rugby Championship against New Zealand, Australia and Argentina. He will be assisted by Mzwandile Stick as backline coach and Johann Van Graan as forwards coach.

Ears are now on the ground as to whom Coetzee will appoint as the next Boks captain.

Yazi I have respect for Mam’ Winnie Mandela that is why her subject is very hard for me to discuss on such a platform without sounding disrespectful. All this drama of hers fighting for Tata’s home in Qunu is just a yawn. Well she lost the case and I must say I wasn’t surprised at all. I mean really now? What I fail to understand is why she had to start being vocal after Tata’s passing? Why didn’t she fight for what she believes was hers soon after the divorce? I’m really confused here. If Tata had married a Mzansi woman, would Mam’ Winnie have gone as far as wearing inzilo and mourning uTata the way she did? I can’t imagine it nje in the world we live in, an ex-wife mourning your husband like she was still his wife? Pots would fly es’feni I tell you. That’s the reality we know. When you divorce – kids or no kids…kuphelile. I mean it’s not like Mam’ Graca was a side chick in this situation. I must say Mam’ Graca is strong. She has remained calm throughout all this drama.

I also read that Mam’ Winnie hasn’t been feeling well these past few weeks. Some reports say it’s diabetes and others say back surgery. Shame, I wish Mama can just stop stressing herself hle and let all these unnecessary fights go. Mbuso was enough stress. We need her to take care of herself now and be well and strong qha.

Molemo Maarohanye aka Jub Jub might be released on parole early next year after completing half of his sentence at the end of this year. The families of the kids that lost their lives that day told Sunday World that they want Jub Jub to apologise to them because he hasn’t done that at all, not even his parents have bothered to visit these families. This is not right. I hope Molemo makes things right. Whatever he does will not bring those kids back but he must put his ego and pride aside, humble himself, take responsibility and apologise for what he did. We are past that, ‘Whatever you say might be used against you in the court of law’ stage. #FixItMo

Another sad story is that of kwaito star Mandoza. He told Sunday Sun that he had been battling with skin cancer. He said he has completed his treatment. SS reports that the cancer has left Mandoza partially blind. He can’t see properly with his one eye. Bathi he kept his illness a secret because he didn’t want unnecessary attention. We are happy that he has beat it. That’s all that matters. Stay with us Godoba!!

Yhuuuuuuuu, uMzwakhe Mbuli has come out guns blazing demanding his money from the ruling party. According to SS, ANC owes Mzwakhe more than R750K with interest. This was for an album he did more than 5years ago. The album was about Caster Semenya. He said he was asked to mobilise Mzansi artists to release 14 songs in defence of Caster Semenya who was under attack after winning a gold medal in Berlin. Mzwakhe says he paid all the artists and the studio but he never got his money from the ANC. This goes back to 2009 bathong. Imagine being owed all that money by a company you know can afford to pay you but you keep calm nje kanjalo for all these years. We are talking about more than half a million here. Better him than me. I’d have camped in the ANC offices everyday till somebody paid me. Lol

When I saw this tweet by Khanyi Mbau I knew there was going to be a story in the paper. SS says uKhanyi doesn’t like uBonang. Bathi she’s been bad mouthing her ever since Somizi and Bonang separated. Let’s address this for a minute, Khanyi used to be ‘BFFs’ with Somizi, then they fell off and it was reported that Somizi was dissing Khanyi and exposing that she wears fake labels. Then he became BFFs with Bonang, and it was reported that they fell off after Bonang accused him of leaking stories about her. Now Somizi is back to BFF land with Khanyi and then tabloids start to report that Khanyi is bad mouthing Bonang? Hoooookay! Anyway, Khanyi told SS that she doesn’t have celebrity friends. Pumza Noashe (on behalf of Bonang) told SS that they will not entertain that because it is gossip based on gossip. Somizi was not available for comment. Balance me please bahlali. #Celebville

I mean if you can rise from that, carry on with life then dating a soccer player will be a piece of cake. Lol

Talking about leaked private bedroom things; Qween Twerk shut down the internet recently after a video of herself with boyfriend Makhosini was posted on her Instagram. When I saw it I was like; TJO!!!

They released statements explaining what had happened. But a lot of people didn’t want to hear that. They believe Queen Twerk posted the video herself for fame and attention. Mna I think her phone was stolen for sure, forget the password what what, I deactivated that password thingy on my phone because it’s too much admin to keep on entering a password every minute the phone locks. I wanna use my phone as soon as I want to, not having to go through the password stuff. Anyway, let me tell you the ONLY reason why I believe her phone got stolen; There is no way in hell one would have posted a man she loves in that position. If she really posted it herself then she doesn’t love that man shem. If the love is there, then she’d have posted the one where he was hard nyana because what we saw looked disturbing. SA Fashion Week was launched in 1997 locally and like in any other country, the main aim was to create a marketing platform for designers to showcase their collections to the public. This years SAFW was held at Hyde Park Corner from the 5^th to the 9^th April, showcasing collections by over 30 local designers.

Internationally the fashion world is huge – there are designers upon designers and boutique stores upon boutique stores and because of that fashion is starting to look and feel the same the world over. There’s a little dejavu moment due to replica’s and the recycling of old trends back into the current age and also mostly because we get bombarded with what’s on trend by the media even before fashion weeks – by the time you attend a fashion show, you do get a feeling that you’ve seen it all before.

Here are collections from the shows we attended…

Designer – Gert Johan Coetzee

Coetzee who is a local celebrity favourite kicked off fashion week with his luxurious collection, celebrating the eclectic regal queen – he played around with suede a trend borrowed from the 70’s, a splash of colour and some embroidery synonymous to his previous work. *I missed the regal queen part in the collection*

Designer – Colleen Eitzen

Eitzen showcased work in denim, metalics, classic navy and palm springs.

Designer – Lunar

Had a lot of classic soft feminine pieces on showcase.

Designer – Clive Rundle

Brought out a mixture of layering on clashing prints and chiffon fabrics and it was really layers and layers of fabric – say more – is more!

Designer – Keys

Keys is known for the glitz work in embroidery and feathers and it was all the same this time around as well as the collection was put together in whimscical feathers, flowers and embroidery – press repeat!

Designer – Sies!Isabelle

Sies!Isabelle evoked earthy elements with nude hues and woven textiles paired with bare footed models.

When you walk away from a fashion show with your head shaking and thoughts of ‘what has just happened and what did I see that I’ll tell my friends about?’, well people might just tell you that it’s not just fashion, it’s art. Therefore not all of us will be impressed – but for me for the main shows that I watched – yes the element of art was there but the shows lacked a ‘wow – moment’  *might be fashion fatigue on my side.

There seems to be a lack of creativity and due to that everything almost looks the same – blame it on trends I guess. I usually say there’s never a clear ‘wow moment’ or ‘yawn fest’for an entire collection – but damn this time around it was more ‘yawn’ than ‘wow’. There’s a very thin that designers would like to stay on trend *which makes everything look the same* and also to try and stay off trend and bring forth individualism *which makes clothes look like no one will wear them*. It’s a tpugh business, designers focus more on redcarpet pieces and out of this world fashion, I think our celebrity industry is not that big for designers to create only redcarpet pieces – clothes need to be available in ready – to – wear pieces for the normal person who goes to an office to a 9 – 5. Most people don’t attend fashion shows because they say ‘what’s the point of watching models strut clothes I can’t wea nor afford?’, the fashion landscape needs to change from being exclusive to celebs and influencers to attracting the men in the street who will not only borrow the clothes – but buy them and wear them – not for a red carpet event – or as gala dinner!

Hope your week has been great so far and it’s thirst-day meaning the weekend in nigh but before we let “anything go” let’s catch up with what’s been happening in Hollywood.

Mariah has always been the queen of shade to me and the diva recently threw some shade with her no-show/ no-participation for the American Idols finale. Mimi paid everyone dust and I am no shocked remember when asked about her time on the show she said that it felt like hell? So why would she even go back? Do you Mimi. 

From one diva to another. The Queen of the runway, Naomi Campbell has released her collectors item coffee table book which will retail for more than $1700. The cover of the book is a piece of art on it’s own and why wouldn’t it be? It’s Naomi. There have only been a 1000 copies printed and they are personally signed by the supermodel herself. Please buy me one people?

Unfortunate news for Khloe, her show Kocktails With Khloe has not been renewed for a second season. She cited the end of the sure being caused by her stressful life now with regards to Lamar and their pending divorce and of course his issues however reports say that she was really hard to work with and regardless of the show doing well, they could not make space for her ego. 

Ciara and one of her longtime friends, Ludacris have been selected to host the Billboard Music Awards and as a result they have been doing promo rounds. During one of the promo rounds Ciara was tasked with naming the rap music category nominees and she wouldn’t name Future which Luda ended up doing. I am not sure if that was petty on her side or not. I feel like she should have just been a consummate professional and left her issues outside the job but then again that’s just my opinion. 

Slay mama! In other news Future is still bad mouthing Cici and this time he’s calling her washed-up, and a flop to just sum it all up. I understand he is angry about something but how do you actually treat your ex and baby mama that way?

Megan Fox is pregnant..again (well she is always pregnant lately). Onlittle interesting fact though is that Megan’s baby daddy is her soon to be ex-husband actor, Brian Green. They have been separated for 8 months but they are reportedly living together.  I guess they had a wine Wednesday and the thirst got realer than water.

Kanye’s TLOP is now available from all big music apps/stores and this isn’t sitting well with the guys at Tidal. I think this is a business move for Kanye and not a personal one but apparently Jay-Z is not taking this well either and it might impact their friendship. Well, the album debuted at number 1 on Billboard making it a big deal for Kanye so I guess this was a right move for him.

Rihanna also celebrated some chart success with Work making its number 1 spot for the 8th week tying her up with the legendary Beatles for a total of 59 weeks on number 1. Speaking of winning, Riri’s pink, PUMA  fur slides are almost out and there’s already a demand for them. Seems like everything Rihanna touches turns into gold.

Remember I shared a story about Lindsay Lohan’s new man? Egor Tarabasov who comes from a Russian property mogul family? Well they are engaged and I am so happy for Lindsay. I hope he will be a great influence on her, she deserves a break!

EVE is doing her promo rounds for the new installment of The Barbershop and she is looking haute. I am so happy that she found love with that rich Maxmillion man of hers, she seems really happy. During an interview on The Real she revealed that babies are definitely in her future with her hubby despite of him having a few of his kids already. Again I am so happy for her, girl dodged a bullet with Stevie J. LOL!

Love her.=, she seems like a regular person, comes to work, makes movies with stars and goes home. Not trying to be famous, it’s endearing actually.

I wonder if she gets half of her modelling jobs because she’s a Moss or because she is actually good. She does channel a younger Kate though. I still can’t believe they are more than 20 years apart though. Yho!

Khloe Money is on Shape magazine. She revealed the magazine with a tweet saying can you imagine, me, the fat one on Shape magazine. Khloe has come a long way. With the help of a few doctors, lots of training, girl has been able to transform herself into a “true” Kardashian, looks, booty and all.

My fave teen is on Teen Vogue and I am loving it. Edgy, young, fresh, cool! 

She should just tap into modelling. I think she has a space there are no quirky black models at the moment.
