Let’s see who’s rocking the magazine covers for the upcoming issues.
Beyonce is all American on the cover of BEAT! I will be sharing the spread in a later post, girl is carrying a chicken in one of the pictures.
Gaga and Aunty Elton are on Billboard. I love how Gaga’s career has evolved, she seems to be in a great space. I am loving her on AHS: Hotel, however that being said, she gives more good face and action than line delivery, that is still very Gaga but hey we’ll wait and see if she improves.
Sevyn Streeter is on Sheen magazine. I guess Sheen is like the Move of the US – there’s nothing on that cover that screams – buy me. Including Sevyn herself. No shade.
Taraji and her brows are on Essence. I love me some Cookie and in the article she talks about how people transition from reality TV to acting. She’s clearly mad about how people think they can just come in and do a craft that she studied with no training just infamy. I hear her but then again what are these TV shows without the flavour of the months? (in most cases being infamous reality TV stars). Her comment also made me wonder if that was a reference to someone specific (Nene Leakes) or reality stars as a whole.
Yara Shahidi from Black-ish is on the cover of Kontrol Girl. That head of hair needs a slow clap – beautiful. Fun Fact: Yara is Nas’ cousin.
Rihanna is on the cover of T. Riri should drop ANTI asap cause if Adele releases 25 before her she would have to release next year on in 2017. We all know the beast that is Adele.
Ebony magazine’s latest cover has been very controversial thus far. Some people are say that they took it a little too far, what do you think? We all know by now that Papa Cosby is/was a major creep but I do not think the Legacy of this TV show and what it meant to people (Black Americans) should be tarnished and/or questioned because of one person. Besides all these cast members need the royalty checks from the re-runs.
Grace Jones evokes Nostalgia in the latest issue of paper Magazine. I love me some Ms. Jones.
I saw this cover and I was like hallelujah! I love this representation of Black women in America not the Housewives edition.
Director Ava DuVernay is on Elle – beautiful! I can’t remember the last time I saw a black face with dreadlocks on a magazine.
Drake is on Art magazine. I like how he has embraced the pout/duck lips. LOL! Can we talk about how we went to sleep and then woke and Drake was hot, like I panty dropping hot. I need to Drakefy my body.
