This week has been one of the toughest weeks to most Midrand residents because they had no water for almost five days since Friday last week, Bekunzima ukuvasa nokupheka. LOL. It’s funny how we feel otherwise once a “basic” need becomes a scarce resource. however we soldiered on sise right namanje. Lets take a look at what I managed to squeezed in my kitchen this crazy week.
Macaroni: I boiled water on the kettle, from the kettle to the pot.
a spoon of oil (depending on the amount you’re making) and some salt.
cover the pot, allow to boil.
uncover until everything sticks together (also depending on the type of cooking you wish to achieve) I always cook it to ripe not too much because it breaks and does not look appetising.
and on the side I had NATURALLY over defrosted my mince from Woolworths ofcoz. LOL
Seasoned, Olive Pepper, Medium Curry powder which I got at Pick n Pay.
I was out of Red Pepper so made dooh with what I had.
I love all the three coloured peppers together though, they bring that Hlawudiness on my meals.
Chopped: onions, Garlic, Ginger, Parsley.
The brownish stuff in the pan is star Seeds which I also bought at Pick n Pay…selected Pick n Pays. I wanted my mince to have an Indian feel to.
I poured Olive oil (from Woolworths)
The Star Seeds, allow them to burn in the pan/pot for a little.
Then ufake your onions followed your peppers, garlic le-ginger.
Throw your mince there, out your heat on medium and cover for a little while. uncover to break your mince to pieces. You don’t want isiqa seMince as end results.
Break your mince until you get the desired results, to break the mince I use a wooden spoon. It’s good for pan and on the food.
Seasoned up the mince again… I’m a sucker curry power bahlali *covers face*
Barbecue spice, Lemon spice as well.
On the side I was preparing relish/gravy…
Ingredients:
I tried out this Brown Onion soup also from Woolies.
Together with this Thai Green Curry.
on a bowl.
Mint.
Origanum.
Mix everything up.
A dash of water.
Chutney.
Stir up.
A dash of tomato sauce.
When all is mixed up, I poured on my mince.
Turn your heat even lower after pouring the mixture the flavours are to die IN… to get this result.
