Those that know me would know how much I HEART Simphiwe Dana, she is like a Brandy Norwood and a Mariah Carey to me. I lover her work as a producer, performer/entertainer (which I doubt she regards herself as one), Song writer, Vocalist and her thought provoking pieces.  I feel she is an amazing person as a friend as well. I think Simphiwe owes me an interview yazi, like serious there’s a whole lot I wish to know from this lady about her work.

I thoroughly enjoyed her “An Evening with Simphiwe Dana Live in Concert featuring a 27 Piece Orchestra” the DVD, but the Audio CD not as much. The sound is bad on the Audio CD, I mean it plays low-really-low for my liking as a result I don’t play it in the car anymore. I play the DVD in the house with the volume on high and sing along but I can’t do the same with the CD in the car.. Infact I should just give-away the double CD to people that love low toned music. I seriously hope the Engineers appointed for working on Symphony Experience Audio will do a good job this time. Whenever I play Adele Live in the car I would also like to play Simpra as well qha ndiya ndiyeke because ingathi ndidlalela abantu abadala.

Anyways, Izolo ke she had press conference about her concert and sadly I could not attend *sad face* and this is what was said:

The Simphiwe Dana Symphony Experience is a realization of a dream Dana had almost nine years ago. In a MIAGI – Music is a great Investment production funded by the National Lotteries Commission, Dana is finally able to see her dream come to fruition.

Joined by two internationally acclaimed artistes whose roots are based in Africa: the divine voice of Asa (Nigeria) and the emotionally haunting voice of Concha Buika (Equitorial Guinea), the concert is set to move the audience off their feet.

“I believe in the power of music as the vehicle that connects us all. I fell in love with the voices of these women some years ago and I knew that someday I would work with them. We have a similar disposition and our energies connect very well. The audience is in for a treat,” says Dana.

A 60-piece orchestra, a 30-piece choir and a dance troupe will add an audio-visual spectacle to this experience.
