I’m Going To Do The Right Thing

I’m not going to talk about the mayhem surrounding Tata Mandela’s death, the conspiracies around the dying dates (1993/2003/2013), how Great of a Leader he was, how cute he was and so on and so forth. I want to talk about the change of heart I felt the morning I heard Tata, our Tata was no-more. Mind you I had slept as if I was drugged because the last person I chatted with was Pako we were discussing the tweets that were alleging the falling of this paragon.

Hearing that u-tata akasekho reminded of my dad Isaac Masombuka whom was the same age as Nelson, how he ended in the Eastern Cape (Port Elizabeth to be exact) from being born in Springs, Johannesburg. How he had to run away from home in his teens to start a life in Cape Town and failed but kept on going until he felt home in PE. How I wish I could have met (still wish) my paternal siblings, yes I have never met any family member from my dad’s side however we managed to live. My dad loved and cherished Mandela for all he did for South Africans and beyond.

Tata’s passing made me think of a comment I made here (and tweets) about not voting for the ANC. I want to take that back, I will be voting! I will be voting for my parent’s party I will be voting for Mandela’s political party the party that brought about change for many South Africans. A change tata (and other comrades) fought hard to get us, letting the legacy go now will be a waste of efforts. A lot of sacrifices have been made for the freedom we deem to enjoy this day, innocent people dying for us to be liberal today, so I don’t see myself killing that light and I urge other fellow South Africans to follow-suite. However I strongly feel that the person(s) heading the party to recuse themselves of the heavy burden of fathering a Nation of intellects, orphans and civilians hungry to progression change.

I’m not saying that other parties are not worthy of my (our) axe(s) *X* but dissembling the 20 years the ANC has built will be demolitiong a building, and if another political party takes charge the 20 years of Democracy and the more than 50 years of sufferings by black people will be taken back to the pit. This will solely be an unfavourable injustice to u-Tata which means we are going to wait for another 20 years for change to be brought-about. Change is always good.

The ruling party’s leaders should look deep down and do all their mights to align themselves to what Mandela was about. Caring for one another, Deliverance and Loving each other because tata said he wants to sleep for eternity with a huge smile knowing that this man has done his duty to his country and his people. Tata has fought for freedom, equality and justice for his political party and its people.

So jah, on the next elections my vote is to honour u-Tat’Mandela, Mbeki, Hani, Biko, my dad Isaac, mothers fathers, our brothers and sister who played a role in reconciling the Nation for us to be able to speak our minds, to be free from stereotypes, for green black and white seeing eye to eye (Unity), for gay and lesbian rights, for free education and for all the limitations that were inherit on THEN black people.

Shake up or shake off! Current Government, You are at the verge of losing your people, don’t stray from your Mandate of serving people. We are not stupid, we are watching! Do The Right Thing.

Fellow South Africans I hope this is not too much too much to ask, let’s continue the legacy Tata Mandela fought for. #DoTheRightThing

Ulale ngoxolo yem-yem, akekho ofana nawe!

“No one is born hating another person because of the colour of his skin or his background or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite”
