A World Heritage Site isn’t the first place that comes to mind when you think about fashion, but with a mantra like “Don’t Tell Me What To Wear”, it’s clear that LEGiT doesn’t follow the norm.
Last week LEGiT introduced their winter 2013 brand ambassador, Toya DeLazy, at The Cradle of Humankind in Maropeng. A world-class venue for a world-class ambassador, they said! The Toya DeLazy x LEGiT range consists of studs, crucifixes and other pieces that Toya describes as “Vintage Street”.
“The range represents my wild side. I love the range, I love the colours because it’s a winter range and it’s exactly how I’d like to look this winter,” says Toya.
LEGiT follows in the footsteps of international brands such as Nike and H&M, who have also used an x to indicate their collaboration with a celebrity.
When asked to describe the LEGiT girl, Toya says: “I see a girl who’s eclectic and doesn’t want to fit into any box – she might be a tomboy, or she might be a feminine girl who’s really bold.”
The Toya x LEGiT range is all about breaking out of your box with metallics and motifs, and expressing yourself with bold accessories and embellishments.
From faux fur to baroque inspired items, the range aims to help you channel your inner rockstar. When asked what items she would wear on stage, Toya responds: “I’d mix it up, I love the shoes in the range, I love the oversized knits, I love the leggings with the crucifixes – it’d be a mix.”
The Toya DeLazy range is currently in-store.
