The Wests Against The World

We all know the biggest thing this past long weekend has probably been the outrage over Kimye’s Vogue cover. What did you think about it? Were you disappointed? Were you angry?

Personally, I loved the cover I thought it was a great cover. It was simple, no extra-ness on Kim’s side. I have said this before I have no issue with Kim Kardashian covering Vogue. We can sit around and bash her life choices all we want but this mom of one is an influential fashionista. Isn’t Vogue about that? At least in some way?  How cool was it that Anna Wintour even made sure that this controversial cover comes with another stamp of controversy, that hashtag? I don’t get why people went up in arms bashing Kim. If you hate her so much, stop talking about her, stop making her relevant. I can’t wait to see how many copies this cover is going to sell. It has been the most talked about Vogue cover in a while. I don’t even think Michelle Obama’s cover was talked about this much. And you say Kanye is crazy when he says his baby mama is more influential than Michelle Obama – snap.

As for people in SA slamming Kim, negroes please. You don’t even buy Vogue magazine, keep buying Move and keep it moving. I am no Kim stan, I can’t stand her LA crass and fried voice but I have to acknowledge how savvy she is (or her mum is). Why hate on other people’s grind? Most of all if you hate them as much as you claim to then stop talking about them, stop buying their crap, stop watching KUWTK. That’s all you have to do just shut up.

That Sarah Michelle Gellar Buffy girl was one of the celebrities that tweeted their outrage about the cover. Sarah stated that she is cancelling her Vogue subscription like we even care. These celebrities are hypocrites. They complain about fans bashing them on social media and how’s not fair and then they turn around and bash Kim. If you want to set an example for the masses and the minority wouldn’t you find better ways to express your outrage? Like just cancelling the damn subscription, Sarah? The way these people are going in on Kim you’d swear she killed someone or stole tax payers money.

If we are going to argue the moral value of Vogue magazine then we shouldn’t be hypocrites. Do we judge the fact that Anna Wintour got her career fast-tracked because of who her father was and whom he knew? Do we judge Anna Wintour for disappearing with the married Bob Marley for one week? So if y’all and Buffy are going to argue on morals can we first start there? I feel the focus should be on these following things. Is the cover in compliance with Vogue standards? Is Kim influential (and fashionable)? Can she sell copies? I don’t know about you but all my answers where YES.

Kim has not gone without any defense. BFF Jonathan Cheban responded to Sarah Michelle Gellar’s tweet by asking her if she matters – LOL. I get whats he was coming from. Basically he’s saying Kim is more relevant than your ass which is true. What has she done since Buffy the Vampire Slayer?  However Jonathan was the wrong person to say that as the only reason he has any relevance is being Kim’s friend. Kim govern your minion.

While you sit there and be bitter somewhere in the world baby North West is doing double fist pumps in front of Blue Ivy and Monroe Cannon, “I’m In Vogue Bitches”.

Your Thoughts?
