Last week Sunday, right after church, and a bit of shopping, I made my way to the cleaner and safer side of Jozi CBD where Paledi Segapo, the fashion genius behind the household brand Palse Homme opened doors of his new boutique to the public. The store is located at Magnet House, on the corner of Anderson & Loveday streets.
Paledi is no stranger to the fashion fraternity, as his Palse brand has been around since 2010 and a constant feature at the SA Fashion Week since 2011. His shows have been well received by international audience in far off ramps of London, Switzerland and Tanzania, to name a few. Armed with a Masters degree in business leadership, loads of creativity and ingenuity, Paledi sure is a force to be reckoned with in the industry.
The event was buzzing with fashion forward peeps from all walks of life, from beauty queens, media personalities and former models (hola Sonia Booth), to Jozi’s well clad gay crowd.
Idols’ lifetime presenter Proverb was in charge of proceedings and sang praises of how Paledi had transformed him from jeans and tracksuits-wearing guy to the swaggerful (lol) hunk he is now.
Man of the moment Paledi thanked everyone for coming, for supporting his brand and singled out individuals like Solly Moeng, Proverb, Donald, Aubrey ‘Masekint’ Boshoga, Bokang, etc. without whom his brand wouldn’t be where it is now.
I was a tad disappointed that although he arrived late, Donald didn’t get to serenade us with some of the material from his new album. The talented muso always rocks Palse garments on the red carpets of SA and international entertainment events!
Here are some of the outfits that were on display:
Matthew Booth and his lovely wife Sonia were in attendance. I actually think Matthew is modelling material, that’s if he is not doing it already.
Sinazo Yolwa was doing interviews for RGB.
She looked sexy in a colourful little number that covered up her prolific twins a bit.
Bokang Montjane is beautiful and has presence, rocking a Palse Femme gown.
You have to love Refilwe, affectionately known as Fifi. She had our Picay in stitches throughout the evening. Here she is seen with Proverb.
Hands off ladies, this foreign hunk is mine!*as I lay my head on him*
Congratulations to Paledi and his team for this incredible achievement. We wish them continued success and creativity to catapult SA fashion to the world over.
